Focus
Our understanding of earthquakes has changed significantly in recent years. We now observe various slow-deformation phenomena in addition to ordinary fast earthquakes, and this highlights the need to reconstruct earthquake science based our growing understanding of different interacting deformation processes. Deep interdisciplinary research across scientific disciplines such as geophysics, geology, and physics, as well as expanding our frontier into engineering and information science, are therefore critical to fully conceptualize these complex intricacies of earthquake science. The Science of Slow-to-Fast Earthquakes projects will hold “International Joint Workshop on Slow-to-Fast Earthquakes 2025” to promote a more integrated approach in earthquake research that encompasses the slow-to-fast earthquake spectrum. We will hold three topical sessions focusing on environmental conditions, novel data analysis methods, and the relationship between data and mathematical models, as well as general oral and poster sessions, to share research results, deepen our understanding of slow-to-fast earthquake processes, and explore new research directions among the participants.
Environment and generation processes of slow and fast phenomena
Cutting-Edge Approaches to Measurement and Data Analysis
Data-constrained numerical modeling and model-informed observations

We also welcome presentations in various fields other than above three themes.
