We exist to partner with local church pastors in training and providing materials, to bring people of every region of the Philippines, into a mature relationship with Jesus Christ and into fellowship with a local church family. To achieve this purpose PhilSOL is carrying out this activities:
Evangelize
Edify Believers
Equip Missionaries
Strengthen the local church
Philippines Source of Light’s vision is to reach the people of the Philippines by partnering with local churches and pastors by providing them Christ-centered and time-tested materials, which will result in evangelism, discipleship, and church planting. We envision our Associate Discipleship Schools impacting communities of people around the Philippines by bringing them to a vital relationship with Jesus Christ, and to a level of commitment to Christ that can reflect and demonstrate His life to the people around them. As we equip these believers, they will mature and bear fruit, repeating the process of evangelism, discipleship, and church planting.
It is the Lord's doing, His wonders to perform that Luz D. Nacionales earned her Masters in Religious Education in 1975 at Faith Theological Seminary, Elkins Park, PA. USA. In 1979, She earned her Doctorate in Philosophy in Missions at the California Graduate School of Theology, Glendale, CA. USA.
God led her to go back to the Philippines and serve the Lord at the First Baptist Church of Manila as one of the coordinators of their project - Student Missionary Outreach (SMO): training Christian students to be campus missionaries to open Bible studies in schools from 1979-1980.
She applied to Source of Light Ministries (SLM) at Madison, GA. USA. to be an associate school/distributor in the Philippines of the Mailbox Club Bible lessons. It was then used by the campus missionaries, those students who were trained through seminars on how to conduct Bible studies in schools, in their campus Bible studies from July 1979 to March 1980.
In June 1980, Dr. Nacionales attended the International Council of Christian Churches (ICCC) conference in Cape May, New Jersey. After the conference, God directed her steps to visit the Headquarter of Source of Light in Madison, Georgia. While at SLM she undergone training for the mission work. With a humble heart, she surrendered her life to obey God's call to return to the Philippines to serve her people as field missionary of SLM in August of 1980.
The Association of Baptist Churches for Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao (ABCLVM) accepted Dr. Nacionales to conduct seminars to Churches on how to use the Bible lessons in their churches and ministries. Since then many associations, churches and individuals partnered with PhilSOL in it mission ministry.
With fervent prayers for the progress of the mission ministry. God touched seven godly men and women who became PhilSOL Board of directors who supervised the ministry, Dr. Luz D. Nacionales as the National Director and Dexilie Alcon as Assistant Director.
God touched the hearts of fourteen men and women through the passing of time from 1982 up to the present to become PhilSOL Missionaries, who were in-charged in their specific areas of ministry all over the country.
In July 1984, Philippine Source of Light was Incorporated with SEC Reg. No. 12162 as non-profit organization.
