The vehicle:

SHADOWBOX: Stories | Art | Community 

An affordable (adorable!), electric, street-legal low-speed GEM mini-truck with an enclosed bed becomes the simple, practical staging area for a simple, enticing shop & experience at local markets. No gas or emissions required! Part curiosity pop-up shop, part impromptu community space. No gas, no emissions, pure connection engine.

Aiming to bring books, art, oddities, conversation, storytelling, and creative experiences directly into public spaces.

The vision:

What if one or some of the unused lots along the main avenue of Beekman through Sleepy Hollow can occassionally convert from boring, blank space to thriving scenes on a Saturday afternoon? What if instead of vendors needing to rent an expensive storefront or buy a building to get in front of customers, they can incubate their mini businesses here together? These markets will connect the riverfront to the inner village without burdening downtown congestion, will entice & delight both visitors and residents who happen upon them, and will offer unique and easy selling opportunities to makers and vendors.
