Re-opening the Centre by David Glennie
Re-opening the Centre by David Glennie
All things being equal, we hope to open in mid May, possibly late May, and we will experiment with the hours that we are open to avoid the tedium of being open when no-one is around.
A lot of work has gone on to produce a Protocol to ensure the safety of both the Volunteers and Visitors whilst in the Museum. If you wish to see the Protocol, click here.
New policies on handling stock, sales and cash have been developed and before we open, we will be asking our Volunteers to attend individual inductions to familiarise them with the new way of operating. We will not open until all our Volunteers are happy with the Protocol.
The obvious changes that visitors will see will be a one-way system around our tiny museum, and a contactless card machine for digital payments and digital donations. We will continue to accept cash from those who prefer. We look forward to welcoming our visitors in the months to come, confident that we have introduced measures that will allow them to enjoy the treasures of our islands in safety.
