For over twenty years, the little Slate Islands Museum in Ellenabeich, on Seil, has been tremendously well supported by both visitors and local residents. It was founded and is operated by the Scottish Slate Islands Heritage Trust. 

Volunteers from a dedicated team open the doors and greet the guests every day. They interact with visitors and talk about the exhibits on display and living in these islands.

Other volunteers do a huge variety of other things to further the Trust’s work, immersing themselves in their chosen projects of research or helping with important administration.

WANTED! Currently we have a pressing need for help in:

Day to day administration and simple accounting.

All aspects of IT and digital publicity.

Editing the “Journal”.

Curatorial work in the museum.

Extra-Mural projects of information and Interpretation.
