You might find an LE mod that you really like, without an SE port. But fear not, for 90% of the time, porting mods yourself is incredibly easy. Let’s get started!
Install Cathedral Assets Optimizer. You should also have the CK installed.
Manually download the mod you want to port and extract it somewhere easy to find.
Open CAO, and point it to the directory where you unpacked the Oldrim mod you want to convert.
If the Oldrim mod contains a .BSA, select "Unpack BSAs" in CAO.
Run CAO to unpack the .BSA (CAO should remove the original .BSA archive. If it doesn't, delete it.)
In the Meshes tab, select necessary optimization.
In the Animations tab, select necessary optimization.
Run CAO. The meshes and animations should now be optimized.
Pack up the mod and install it via your mod manager of choice.
Enable the mod.
Launch Creation Kit, set the Oldrim mods plugin as the active plugin.
CK will throw several errors. Hit “Yes to All” and let it load.
Save the plugin.
(Optional) With the plugin still open in CK, select any NPCs added or changed by the plugin under the Actors category, hit CTRL+F4. This will generate new facetint files to eliminate blackface issues.
