Health and wellness are more than the mere absence of illness. To be well is to thrive physically, emotionally, and psychologically. Evidence suggests increased health, vitality, and well-being, reported by tens of thousands of SKY meditation practitioners, which are consistent with empirical research findings. Over 70 independent studies conducted on four continents and published in peer-reviewed journals, have demonstrated a comprehensive range of benefits from SKY practice.

SKY meditation uses cyclical, rhythmic patterns of breath to bring the mind and body into a relaxed state, leading a meditative state to arise. Its effects have been studied in open and randomized trials, both in healthy populations and in populations with psychopathology.

SKY was also the subject of multiple studies conducted at Yale University, which found that students that regularly practiced the Sudarshan Kriya Yoga breathing technique reported significant improvement in six areas of well being: depression, stress, mental health, mindfulness, positive affect, and social connectedness.
