Opportunities

CREED-Poly Research Laboratory, with an objective to create awareness and interest in the students related to the topics of Coast, River, Estuary, Ecosystem, Disaster and Plastic Pollution is offering opportunities at different academic stages. This includes internships, MTech Projects, and PhD (Full-Time as well as Part-time) for students from various Universities/Institutes.

Eligibility: Graduation students in Civil engineering or Post-graduation in Hydraulic and Water Resource Engineering/ Environmental Engineering/ Other relevant areas.

Duration: The duration of the internship will in general be 8–12 weeks (2–3 months), and for MTech as well as PhD, it depends on the project.

Stipend: For internships, MTech projects, and PhDs (Part-Time) no stipend is provided by the CREED-Poly Research Laboratory. For PhD (full time), if selected through institute (NIT Puducherry) fellowship, a stipend (Rs. 37,000.00 per month) will be provided by the institute.

Logistic Support: All logistics supplies required for the smooth performance of the project will be provided.

Work Plan: Interns shall be assigned tasks/ activities pertaining to the project and for MTech as well as PhD, students are to plan their own work.  

Submission of Report: The interns will be required to present an internship report to the Head, CREED-Poly Research Laboratory at the end of the internship in prescribed format. Interns may also be asked to make a presentation about their assigned activity(s). For MTech and PhD, students are to report every week about their progress, and have to submit their thesis at the end of the program.  

Propriety of Report: The report submitted by the intern will be the sole property of CREED-Poly Research Laboratory, NIT Puducherry, and the Laboratory or institute is free to use its contents in any form of documentation. Although a copy of the report will be given to the intern.

Certificate of Internship: At the end of the internship, a certificate will be issued only to those who successfully complete the assigned work and submit their report within the stipulated time of internship (except in very emergent situations or conditions). In such emergent cases, the Head, CREED-Poly Research Laboratory, will be the competent authority to grant permission for the late submission of the report.

Selection Process: The applications received for internships will be reviewed by the Head, CREED-Poly Research Laboratory, on the basis of the qualifications and experience of the candidates. The final decision shall be taken by the same. For MTech projects, selection will be based on the meeting, and for PhD selection will be as per NIT Puducherry norms.
