About Me

Commenced my professional journey with a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Adhiparasakthi Engineering College, affiliated with Anna University. Subsequently, I pursued higher education, completing both a Master of Technology (M.Tech.) and a Ph.D. in Hydraulic and Water Resources Engineering from IIT Kharagpur and IIT Madras, respectively. My doctoral research delved into the "Influence of water temperature and microbes on suspended cohesive sediment concentration".

My primary research focus centers on sediment transport, particularly addressing suspended sediments, associated contaminants, coastline morphology, and the impact of climate change and natural disasters. Employing predominantly field data collection and laboratory experiments, I integrate numerical and geospatial (GIS) software for supplementary analyses.

In 2021, I assumed the role of Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the National Institute of Technology Puducherry. In this capacity, I undertook both departmental and administrative responsibilities, serving as the academic coordinator, contributing to the transportation committee, and instructing courses such as Mechanics of Fluids, Hydraulics and Hydraulic Machinery, Fluid Dynamics, and Coastal Engineering. Additionally, I actively participated in the design and development of the M.Tech. in Disaster Resilient Infrastructure curriculum.

Drawing on ample experience, I have contributed to the creation of various laboratory experimental setups, including an annular flume, water hammer demo setup, and other fluid mechanics laboratory configurations. Presently, I am involved in the development of a 55m long wave flume.

My dedication extends beyond teaching and research; I am consistently engaged in seeking funds from diverse sponsoring agencies to foster research activities and inspire the next generation of engineers.
