Versions and purpose
This notice describes Skip Ready Auto 1.3.2 and its retained 1.2.0 / 1.2.1/1.3.0 / 1.3.1 practices. Naming a version in this policy does not establish its Store approval or public availability. Older Skip Ready Browser Click 1.1.1 and Diagnostic 1.1.2 require an explicit Start for each session; Auto versions connect automatically when enabled.
Skip Ready Auto processes native YouTube ad-control state locally to attempt browser mouse input on a supported, visible, enabled and uncovered native Skip button. It does not block advertisements or shorten countdowns. YouTube decides whether and when Skip is available.
Access and local processing
The debugger permission is broad and can read and change page content. Its capabilities are wider than the information this implementation uses, and the YouTube host setting is not a complete restriction on debugger capabilities. This implementation uses fixed locally packaged checks and browser input only for supported top-level HTTPS www.youtube.com/watch tabs selected in their own Chrome window. Chrome displays a debugging banner while attached.
Local checks use the selected tab URL, native ad/control classes and attributes, styles and geometry, page visibility, current rendered video identifier, browser navigation state, and internal tab/document/window routing identifiers. These checks allow safe startup, eligibility checks, pausing and stopping. Temporary session flags and attempted-click counters describe operation. Attempts are not confirmed skips.
The extension does not retain video URLs/titles as viewing history, account identifiers, payment credentials, ad text, screenshots, page HTML or network-response bodies. It has no analytics service, extension server, remote extension code or upload of observations/counters. Local processing is still data handling. The information is used only for the disclosed skip feature and its operation, consistent with Chrome Web Store User Data and Limited Use requirements.
Storage and retention
chrome.storage.local holds automaticEnabled, the saved On/Off choice, and uiLanguage, English or Traditional Chinese. They stay on this device until changed or extension data is removed. No Chrome sync is used. A missing automatic preference defaults On; a saved Off remains Off. Unavailable/invalid required settings or temporary-hold state inhibit automatic input.
chrome.storage.session holds at most 64 bounded temporary paused-tab/document routing records and fixed cancellation/error reasons so a pause remains respected across helper restarts. These are not a viewing-history database or telemetry. Holds clear on browser restart or extension disable/reload/update. Other operational routing, visibility, readiness, counters and current-video state remain temporary memory rather than a saved viewing log.
Turn Auto Skip Off to detach this extension's sessions. Cancelling Chrome's debugging banner, conflicting DevTools or connection failure pauses the document without an automatic reconnect loop. Reconnect this tab is a deliberate current-tab retry while Auto Skip is On; it clears only that tab's temporary hold before fresh guarded checks. A new document can permit a new attempt.
Popup status and optional reports
The popup may keep an earlier confirmed On/Off setting temporarily when fresh matching status is unavailable. It labels that information as earlier/unconfirmed, rather than current operation. Version 1.3.2 also marks a rejected On/Off or Reconnect action response unconfirmed until a fresh matching reply arrives. It does not replay that action automatically. This adds no stored data or report field. Closing/reloading the popup removes this temporary cache.
Copy status is user-requested. It reads fixed local helper snapshots and writes a report to the OS clipboard, with selectable-text fallback. Reports contain fixed labels, versions/match flags, booleans and bounded counts. They omit URLs, video titles, account identifiers, tab/document/window identifiers, coordinates, HTML and arbitrary page text. An inspection reason can describe an earlier moment. Copying itself does not turn on automatic mode, attach, inspect a new ad or send input; already-enabled normal operation may continue independently. No report is sent automatically. You choose whether and where to paste/share it. Chrome, the OS and receiving apps separately manage clipboard persistence and access.
Optional Ko-fi support
https://ko-fi.com/noname84704 opens only after your explicit click. No extension diagnostics, observations, video information or attempt counts are appended. The link uses noopener/noreferrer. Ko-fi and its payment providers have separate privacy, cookies, account and payment terms. Opening the page can share ordinary browser/network information; choosing to pay can share transaction/supporter information with providers and the creator. Payments are not anonymous merely because the extension has no analytics. Read https://more.ko-fi.com/privacy before using that service.
The extension does not process payment credentials, verify purchases, connect your payment account or require payment for skipping. Support is voluntary.
Your choices and contact
Change saved settings in the popup or remove the extension to remove its stored data. Reports you already copied or shared remain under your and recipients' control. If you contact support, the information you choose to send is used to respond. Send only what is needed; do not send passwords, payment credentials, verification codes or unnecessary personal information.
