CAPACITY AND BUILDING AFFAIRS

The Sangguniang Kabataan Council of Barangay Sta. Elena attended the mandatory training at St. Francis of Assisi Parish Pastoral Center. The said event is organized by the Local Government Unit of Buhi.

Hon. Rey P. Lacoste, the Municipal Mayor of Buhi, was also present at the said activity. The newly-elected Sangguniang Kabataan officials of Barangay Sta. Elena formally took their oath at St. Francis of Assisi Parish Pastoral Center and was officiated by Hon. Rey P. Lacoste. This marks the first day of SK officials in the position and office. 

This training aims to strengthen and empower the Sangguniang Kabataan as a useful conduit in barangays or in community development. It can help to emphasize the role of youth in becoming better citizens and encourage the involvement of youth in public through the establishment of effective, responsive, and enabling mechanisms.

The Local Youth Development Office of the Municipality of Buhi conducted a leadership summit for Buhinon youth leaders on December 10, 2023 at Paseo Del Sur Reception Hall.

The said training was attended by Hon. Vince Adrisola, a SK Member, together with Jershwen Secundo, the Sta. Elena Youth Organization (SEYO) Secretary.

The appointed SK treasurer, Ms. Mary Joy Barandon, dives into her online Basic Bookkeeping Course conducted by TESDA. Here's to equipping the council with the necessary skills for effective financial management!

The appointed SK Secretary and Treasurer also took their oath of office after the Municipal Mayor, Hon. Rey P. Lacoste, during the event.

Sta. Elena Barangay Council took a significant step forward by joining the 2024 Basic Orientation Course (BNEO) at Avenue Plaza Hotel, Naga City on March 13-14, 2024. It was participated by the Sangguniang Kabataan Chairperson, Hon. Ron Andrew Oaferina, as an ex-officio member of Sta. Elena Barangay Council. Armed with knowledge and determination, they are poised to enhance governance and uplift our beloved community. 

Hon. Ma. Misyu Villar, an SK member attended the U4U Teen Trail Initiative (Training of Trainers) last May 9, 2024 at the Integrated People’s Center (SB session hall)  2nd floor new municipal building.
