Hon. Ron Andrew Oaferina Receives Honorable Mention in Most Outstanding SK Chairperson Award

Buhi, Camarines Sur – Hon. Ron Andrew T. Oaferina, the SK Chairperson of Barangay Santa Elena, has been awarded Honorable Mention as one of the Most Outstanding SK Chairpersons during the Buhi Youth Night 2024. This prestigious recognition was granted for achieving over 80% compliance with the SK Performance Tracker, which measures the effectiveness of SK councils in governance and youth-oriented initiatives.

Despite the achievement, the council faced challenges in fully adhering to the Full Disclosure Policy Board and the payment of annual dues due to budget constraints, as they have yet to receive their full funding for 2024. Nonetheless, the council's leadership and effort has been a driving force behind numerous community-focused programs, showcasing resilience and dedication.

The award was presented at the Buhi Millennium Center during the event organized by the Sangguniang Kabataan Federation of Buhi, highlighting outstanding contributions to youth development.

SK Santa Elena Receives Silver Seal at Gawad Kampeon Kabataang Buhinen

Buhi, Camarines Sur – The Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay Santa Elena has achieved a significant milestone by earning the Silver Seal in the Gawad Kampeon Kabataang Buhinen, placing third in this municipality-wide recognition award. This recognition was awarded for the council’s innovative and impactful programs, particularly the establishment of Kabataan KONECT—a pioneering full disclosure website in Buhi.

Kabataan KONECT provides accessible and transparent information on the council's projects, reports, and financial statements. This initiative has been hailed as a benchmark for fostering community trust and setting new standards in governance.

The award ceremony took place during the Buhi Youth Night 2024, an event that celebrates excellence in SK leadership and was held at the Buhi Millennium Center on December 30, 2024. This recognition underscores the council’s commitment to innovative approaches that empower and inspire the youth of Santa Elena.

On November 24, 2024, Hon. Trisha S. Valenciano tendered her formal resignation as an SK Member of Barangay Santa Elena, Buhi, as she embarks on a new and exciting journey with a job opportunity in Dubai.

The Sangguniang Kabataan has acknowledged her decision through Resolution No. 27, Series of 2024, recognizing her invaluable contributions and unwavering dedication to the youth and community.

While her presence will surely be missed, we express our heartfelt gratitude for her service and wish her the best of luck and success in this new chapter of her life.
