For some members, this may be the first residential event that you have ever done! So, your command team has compiled a list of items that we think are essential to ensuring the best volunteer experience.
These are items that you really should bring with you
Personal medications
Phone charger
Casual clothes (for down time at accommodation)
Warm uniform - especially for those on night shift
Underwear - enough for your shifts, plus extra!
Study footwear (we suggest boots, with comfy thick socks)
Personal hygiene items (toothbrush and toothpaste, tampons, pads etc.)
St John Uniform (we suggest at least two sets - washing machines are available at the accommodation)
These are items that the seasoned pros recommend
Wet weather gear - all types of weather is predicted for this event - you just never know!
Your own pillow - the ones in the accom are fine, but if you have a good pillow, and you want a restful sleep, bring your own pillow
Sunglasses - it's gonna be sunny, even for night shift!
Moisturiser - the site is going to be dusty, and your skin may dry up. Make sure it has a good SPF rating as well
Battery pack for phone - the shifts are long, and we can not guarantee you will have access to power when on-site
Downtime activities - board games, books, homework - things to enjoy at the accom or during periods while on shift
