First things first, head over to Google Sites. Make sure you're signed into your Google account.
Once you're there, you’ll see the Sites dashboard. You have two options:
Click on "Blank" to start a completely new site from scratch. This is great if you want full creative control over the layout and design. :)
Or choose a Template from the Template Gallery at the top of the page. Templates are pre-designed layouts that can save you time and give you a professional-looking site in minutes! :D
Whichever option you choose, don’t worry — you’ll be able to customize everything later!
Now comes the fun part — designing your site! :D
This is where your creativity comes in. Here’s what you can do:
Add text boxes, images, buttons, videos, and more using the tools on the right-hand sidebar.
Use the Insert, Pages, and Themes tabs to add new sections, manage navigation, and choose the overall style of your site.
Rearrange and resize elements just by clicking and dragging — it’s super intuitive! :)
Want to embed other content like documents, calendars, or YouTube videos? Just click Insert > Embed and paste the link! ;)
📌 Tip: Keep your layout clean and easy to navigate so your visitors don’t get overwhelmed.
🚨 IMPORTANT:
While designing your site, please make sure everything you add follows Google’s Terms of Service (TOS). That includes content, images, and links.
Don't upload copyrighted material, offensive content, or anything that breaks the rules.
When your site looks just the way you want it — great job! :)
Now you’re ready to share it with the world.
Click on the "Publish" button in the top-right corner.
You’ll be prompted to choose a web address (also known as your site name).
This will look something like:
https://sites.google.com/view/your-site-name
Make sure to follow these rules when choosing your name:
✅ It should be original, appropriate, and non-offensive
🚫 NOT ALLOWED WORDS: Do not use any name that references “Google” or other protected names/trademarks.
For example, avoid names like “GoogleSiteClone” or “MyGooglePage” — those are against Google’s rules and may get taken down. :(
Once you've chosen a name, click "Publish" again — and you’re live! :D
You can always go back and edit your site at any time — just open Google Sites, click on your project, and update whatever you need! :)
Want a custom domain (like yoursite.com)? You can set one up through Google Domains or another registrar.
Share your new site by copying the Published Link or clicking the Share button to adjust visibility settings.
