Content management ideas:
board of content governance: a board of governance is necessary and important; we may find useful guidance from Anita Prest and her work in Canada on the question of protocols for sharing and learning Indigenous music
guidance and protocols for content creators: clear guidelines and well-considered question prompts in the uploading form can be a step to improve content quality, provoke reflection and make the same content more meaningful (questions such as "why are you here?"; "where is it appropriate for this music to be performed/used?")
ideas for tags: content shall be searchable by many tags. Some ideas from our discussions: laments, drinking songs, lullabies, work songs, caroles, religious music
allow content creators to make their own tags
decentralizing content governance to communities: can culture bearer communities be responsible i for regulating content?
quality control: might we tag with a different color or symbol content that is "centrally produced" (that is, music and profiles produced in collaboration with the Singing Map team and our institutions); Twitter (X) has a system ike this to differentiate between high and lower quality content from users
authorship: questions of authorship should be verbalized in the format content creators use to upload music and videos both as a pedagogical tool to encourage reflection about authorship and to allow for culturally appropriate and accurate tagging of music. This is relevant for aspects of Sámi traditions such as personal joiks where the person rather thatn the composer is the right holder and with some joiks that come from a particular place, and where nature itself may be considered the rights holder
should feedback be participatory?: can we design so that in order to comment on a performance or tutorial one must upload their own performance
