Kirkkonummi Music Institute, Kirkkonummi and Siuntio, Finland

Kirkkonummi Music Institute is a bilingual (Finnish and Swedish) municipal music institute founded in 1972. It provides basic music education (extended syllabus) for the children and youth of Kirkkonummi and Siuntio.

Our vision is musical joy and vitality throughout life, and the values are: musical joy - courage, individuality - fellowship, cultural heritage - regeneration

The Institute has almost 700 pupils and more than 30 teachers. It offers over 60 concerts that attract more than 6000 listeners every year. In addition to piano, kantele and accordion lessons, teaching is provided in all orchestral instruments. The Institute has two string orchestras, two wind ensembles / brass bands and a chamber orchestra for advanced students. The school encourages brave, creative and versatile musical expression and provides a base for progressing to higher musical studies.

Kirkkonummi is a town in Southern Finland with approximately 40 000 inhabitants.

The Music Institute of Länsi-Uusimaa was founded in 1971 by its owner, the city of Lohja.

Its vision is to be the leading music institute of the county. With its versatile, high-standard and creative teaching it gives the children and young students a possibility to create a rich and lifelong relationship to music.

The Music Institute of Länsi-Uusimaa has close to 900 students, eight orchestras and two choirs.
