Hindi Input Tools — English to Hindi Typing is a Chrome extension that converts English phonetic typing into Hindi text. The extension is designed to work locally in Chrome without accounts, external servers, analytics, or advertising trackers.
We do not collect, sell, rent, or transmit personal information or browsing data. We do not receive typed text, webpage content, page URLs, browsing history, passwords, payment information, or contact information.
When you use the typing pad or explicitly enable Hindi typing on a webpage, text is processed locally in your browser to provide transliteration. Your personal dictionary, preferences, and page-mode settings may be saved in Chrome local storage on your device. This information is not uploaded to us or shared with third parties.
activeTab: used only after you choose to enable Hindi typing on the current page.
scripting: used to add the local typing functionality to eligible text fields on the current page.
storage: used to save your local dictionary and extension settings.
The extension does not run on pages without your action and excludes password, email, URL, telephone, and numeric fields from page-mode typing.
The extension does not use third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, remote code, external APIs, or server-side processing. All extension code, dictionary data, and fonts are bundled with the extension.
Local dictionary entries and settings remain on your device until you remove them, clear the extension’s storage, or uninstall the extension. Uninstalling Hindi Input Tools removes its Chrome storage according to Chrome’s normal extension behavior.
Hindi Input Tools does not knowingly collect information from children or adults. Because the extension does not transmit personal information, no account or age information is required.
We may update this policy if the extension’s functionality or data practices change. The updated policy will show a new effective date and will be published with the extension’s current privacy-policy URL.
