Certified 508 Trusted Tester, Certified End of Life Specialist, Certified in Sound Healing, Instructional Design & Digital Accessibility for Educators. Artist, Educator, Sound Bath Facilitator.
I was born in Antigua & Barbuda and have spent years traveling the Caribbean, Central America, and the United Kingdom. These formative experiences exposed me to diverse cultures and traditions, shaping my perspective on art, learning, and mindfulness. My family settled in the mid-Atlantic United States, where I studied communications and integrated design, while continuing to explore my creative passions and develop a deep connection to my Caribbean roots.
Over the past two decades, I have engaged in the practice of playing Tibetan Singing Bowls. This evolved into teaching others how to use these instruments to enhance their own meditation practice. Six years ago, I started facilitating sound bath meditations with a variety of instruments, sharing the transformative power of sound with individuals, families, universities, and organizations.
My educational & professional background includes:
M.A. in Integrated Design and B.S. in Corporate Communications
Undergraduate and graduate teaching
Certifications: Instructional Design, Digital Accessibility for Educators (DAE), Foundational Sound Healing, Certified End of Life Specialist (COELS), and American Sign Language (on-going)
In all aspects of life and work, I strive for simplicity, sustainability, and meaningful connection. I aim to embrace opportunities to learn, grow, and inspire.
My professional journey began in corporate communications and multimedia development, where I contributed to award-winning teams in the nonprofit sector. In this space, I applied the principles of effective design to create meaningful impact—developing educational materials, publications, mobile apps, and environmental design projects that informed and inspired.
Transitioning to instructional design in higher education, I expanded my development expertise and embraced new dimensions of learning. I quickly discovered that the principles of effective communication align beautifully with those of instructional design. I enriched my toolkit with a foundation in andragogy, the neuroscience of learning, and hands-on experience designing academic courses and media across a wide range of disciplines—including the arts, sciences, business, law, psychology, mathematics, medicine, and research.
Collaborating with subject matter experts, talented instructional designers, and engaging in formal coursework in instructional design prepared me well for my next chapter: serving as university faculty. I’ve taught both undergraduate and graduate-level courses at institutions in Maryland, bringing a practitioner’s insight and an educator’s heart to the classroom.
Throughout my career, one thread has remained constant: my passion for teaching, training, and coaching others. Whether assessing training needs, researching content, or facilitating learning for diverse audiences, I thrive when I can help others grow. Empowering people through learning isn’t just what I do—it’s who I am.
