Simmonarchy is currently reforming. This page is under construction!
The Estates General is the legislative arm of the government. They advise the monarch, pass legislation and have the power to declare a coup. While mostly advisory they can wield significant power in the Kingdom.
In the Estates General each estate gets a vote.
Any Estate may do the following actions if all members of the Estate vote for it:
Call a civil war and establish their own revolutionary assembly. They may do this in order to put a new King in power or to force the current thing to undertake reforms. When an estate calls for a civil war the other estates vote on whether or not to join the revolutionaries or whether to join the King.
Block major decisions.
There is 8 Seats in the Estates General, or 3 estates.
3 are appointed by the Monarch (at least one must be a freeholder not sworn to a House)
3 are elected through FPTP voting in each of the 3 houses
2 are appointed by the Archbishop of Simmonarchy
The estates general has a number of powers such as:
Approving major decisions made by the King
Forcing the King to do an action
The power to call a coup against the Monarch and to rise up and try and put a new Monarch into power (requires a civil war)
The King has the following powers over the Estates General:
The power to force any member of the Estates General to step down
The power to dissolve the estates general for a period of up to a week
Terms in the Estates General are 2 weeks for elected seats and 1 month for appointed seats.
Civil Wars may not happen anymore then once every month.
