Band Fair Share: Investing in Your Child's Musical Journey
The Silver Sands Middle School Band program is committed to providing a high-quality music education for all students. To achieve this, we rely on the support of our band families through our Fair Share program.
What is the Fair Share Fee?
The Fair Share fee is an annual contribution of $100 per student. This fee helps cover essential expenses that are not fully funded by the school district, such as:
Music books and sheet music
Uniform rental and maintenance
Instrument repair and maintenance
Performance assessment fees
Competition and festival expenses
Why is Fundraising Important?
The Volusia County School District provides a limited budget of $250 for the entire band program, which consists of 250 students. This equates to just $1 per student for the entire 196-day school year. Fundraising is essential to bridge this gap and ensure that we can offer a comprehensive and enriching musical experience for all students.
How Can You Contribute?
Fundraising Participation: We encourage all families to participate in our various fundraising activities throughout the year. This is a fun and rewarding way to support the band while helping your child reach their Fair Share goal.
Direct Donation: You can also make a direct donation to the band program, either in one lump sum or through installments throughout the year.
No Student Left Behind:
We firmly believe that no student should be denied the opportunity to participate in band due to financial constraints. If you have any concerns about meeting the Fair Share obligation, please don't hesitate to contact Mr. Powell. We are committed to working with you to find a solution that works for your family.
Your contribution to the Fair Share program is an investment in your child's musical education and the success of the Silver Sands Middle School Band. Thank you for your support!
