To make a garment or accessories (such as cushions, fabric bags etc), you first need to have your design. It can be sketch, it can be a picture of sample you created, or it can be an actual sample you already have but want to modify. Basically anything that can give us detail idea how the sample should be like. We do work from sketch, but please be very specific so we can understand your purpose better. We want to be a mind reader but unfortunately we could not gain this skill. We work by specific measurements rather than "Big", "Small", "Short", or "Standard", because every individual has different standard for each word. Including photo references absolutely helps!
Once you figured your design, you need to find the right fabric for it. As all fabric has its own character, we need to know what fabric you are going to work with. This makes huge difference in pattern.
Price is vary depends on complexity of design. Price will be discussed at the time you bring us the design.
Most of our customers are big clothing companies, but it's not only thing we work on. We can work on clothing of Men, Women, Children and even for pets. Range of clothing is very wide as you already know, it can be lingerie or a suit. It can be furniture cover, it can be a cushion. Bring us your design and we can figure it out!
Of course you can. Those customers who has their own sewing source, they just make pattern from us. You can of course bring your own pattern and have us make sample out of it. But we normally take a look at the pattern you bring and if it seems like the pattern is not correct, we can refuse the request or suggest you to make a new pattern from us. We make pattern digitally, so you can always come back to us for a copy of pattern. You can request physical pattern or digital pattern at a charge.
Yes, no, maybe. Most of the time, it normally takes 3-4 remake of pattern & sample for a design. Why? Because we can't be sure if the fit is just as what you were expecting in your mind. Plus, all fabric has different shrinkage, and it can not be found before start making the sample. In the case you give us the measurements (measurements of the garment, not the body of model), it normally comes out right in first couple try, but if you give us the measurement of body of a person, it is not so easy to have everything correct at first. So expect to make 3-4 samples, and all fixing pattern & each sample are charged. But if the change is a minor thing, like reducing the length, and you don't think you really need to have a corrected sample, we'll just make change on pattern. All decision is made by you, if you want to remake, we do remake, if you don't want it, we don't. So it's always safe to get enough fabric ready for samples, or to get cheaper fabric that is similar to the one you actually want to produce.
Unfortunately no. We do have some information of fabric companies and trim companies, but you need to supply us all materials that is needed for the sample. For those trims such as zippers and pipings, we can inform you the length that is needed for sample. In case the first sample needs some change, make sure to get enough source and materials ready.
And some design requires special techniques such as Smocking, punching eyelets, attaching crystals and etc. In this case, we normally cut fabric pieces first or sew up to what is possible before those special ones, then let you know to take it to those companies for those service, and bring it back to us to finish up. We can give you sources if you do not know one, but can not guarantee how they actually work as what we can give you is their contact information or brief location as we saw it when drove by.
That's totally up to you. As I have mentioned above, we always prefer your spec chart if you are looking for a specific fit, but if you just have brief idea and can't really think of an exact specs, you can tell us which size you would want the sample to be, than we will make the pattern & sample in that size using our regular sizing method. Then you can fix the fit from there if you want it to have some specific fit. Again, your small and our small may be different because everyone has different standards on it, and all brands has different fits for their own sizes. So if you just mention small, medium, large or etc without specific spec, we'll go ahead and do it on our own sizing rule - which actually works great for the most of the time.
No, for the most of cases. But there will be a smaller charge for "grading" to make a different size pattern out of original one. Making different sizes based on pattern is called "grading", and grading is required before proceeding to production if you want to produce more than one size for a design.
These are considered as separate area of sizing rule so that requires a whole separate pattern: Regular size, Plus Size, Children's size and when fabric character changes.
We normally give 3 business days when we are not too busy. But it might take longer if the design is a bit more complex or we are in busy period. Time can be discussed at the time of request.
