SILS Best PhD Thesis Award ‘Carlo Lamberti’
Nominee must be SILS Member for the year 2024 and have obtained the Ph.D. degree in one of the last two doctoral cycles of the Italian PhD system.
The thesis must include substantial work about methods, techniques or applications of synchrotron radiation and/or other advanced radiation sources.
Nominations are invited across all disciplinary areas. Winners will be awarded during the SILS Conference 2024 by a € 150,00 prize.
Nominations, including Ph. D. thesis, CV and 1 recommendation letter by the Ph.D. tutor (SILS member), have to be sent before 15/07/2024 to the SILS president presidentesils@gmail.com.
SILS Young Scientist Award
Nominee must be SILS member for the year 2024 and have made contribution to synchrotron radiation methods, techniques and applications, preferentially within the Italian community. Nominations are invited across all disciplinary areas. Nominee should be within 7 years of a Ph.D. (or equivalent) degree as of May 30, 2024.
Winners will be awarded during the SILS Conference 2024 by a € 250,00 prize.
Nominations, including CV and 1 recommendation letter by an SILS member, have to be sent before 15/07/2024 to the SILS president presidentesils@gmail.com. No self-nominations will be accepted.
SILS Best poster Award
A best poster contest will take place to award the research presented by a PhD student or a Post-doc researcher (or equivalent). Winners will be awarded during the SILS Conference 2024 by a € 150,00 prize.
GRANTS
On the occasion of the SILS Conference 2024, to be held in Rende (CS) from 5 September to 7 September 2024, Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste and the INSTM are announcing scholarships for young members, under the age of 35 years1 in the year 2024, who intend to present a contribution to the congress. The INSTM support is dedicated to 3 young researchers that are INSTM members (see list on www.instm.it).
The scholarships consist of exemption from the payment of the Congress registration fee.
For the award of the scholarships, the Committee, consisting of three members appointed by the Scientific Committee, will evaluate the curriculum vitae of the applicants.
The deadline to apply for the grant is 30 June 2024. Extended to 04 August 2024.
