ANWAR THOMAS

I am a postsecondary disability services professional and graduate student. I have a background in behavioral science and special education and have been employed in postsecondary disability services, academic counseling and advising for nearly six years.

In my current role, at a large Midwestern community college, I work with a diverse population including students with a wide range of disabilities, first-generation students, and non-traditional adult learners.

I am pursuing a graduate certificate in Educational Technology through Michigan State University’s summer overseas program and a doctorate in Education & Human Development (Educational Technology specialization) from Western Michigan University. My research interest relates to technology, equity, and inclusion in higherED and my goal is to broaden my knowledge of access technology and accessibility concerns related to the instructional use of technology in order to advocate for students and contribute to policy and best practice in my field.
