Horning, Linda

Memoir | Travel | Diet

Linda Schuyler Horning, author of Buhari – A Family Odyssey in Nepal, has a passion for foreign travel, having lived in Tasmania, Australia for several years and visited several more countries following that stay. When her son moved to Nepal, she focused her attention on a different country and culture, starting a blog about Nepal that led her to writing this book.

Horning, a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, became a diabetes educator who worked in a variety of clinical and community settings, writing extensively within her career field. Those works include The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Fasting with Eve Adamson and a contribution to Beef Busters, by Marissa Cloutier, M.S., R.D.

Horning’s love of writing extends back to her early years on a rural Pennsylvania farm, where she wrote stories about her family home and mother’s yellow kitchen, but now she writes more about adventures she shares with her family in the foothills and mountains of the Sierra. Two short stories, Chickadee Ski and Salmon in the Goldfields, are available on line.
