Hi! I'm Siddhi (she/her). My name is pronounced a bit like "city". I am currently a UC President's Postdoctoral Fellow at UC Berkeley. My scientific sponsor is Ian Agol.
Here is my CV.
I'm interested in low dimensional and geometric topology. In particular, I study 3- and 4- dimensional manifolds by studying the geometric structures they admit, as well as the knots and surfaces they contain. You can read more about my research interests here.
You may know me from:
Columbia University, where I was an NSF Postdoctoral Fellow and a Ritt Assistant Professor. My scientific mentors were Mohammed Abouzaid and Francesco Lin.
Georgia Tech, where I was an RTG postdoc for the 2020/2021 academic year. My scientific mentor was Jen Hom.
Boston College, where I was a PhD student. My advisor was Josh Greene.
my claim to fame.
I'm a mentor with UC Berkeley's MPS Scholars Program!
I'm co-organizing the Berkeley topology seminar.
I'm co-organizing a learning seminar on foliations at the 2026 SL-math semester program Topological and geometric structures in low-dimensions.
the Stanford topology seminar (May 26, 2026).
I attended the Oberwolfach "Low-Dimensional Topology" workshop (July 5 -- 10, 2026).
I gave a guest lecture at the MSRI-UP REU (July 21, 2026)
the UCLA topology seminar (October 19, 2026)
the "Normal Rank and Dehn Surgery Numbers in Group Theory and Topology" workshop at the Brin Mathematics Research Center at the University of Maryland (Dec 1 -- 4, 2026)
I'm organizing the 2027 JMM AMS Special Session on Geometric topology in low-dimensions: hyperbolicity, foliations, flows, and friends.
