The test simulates a 3 team tournament. Therefore, there are 3 rounds, with each round having 2 teams contest and 1 team sitting out. This is similar to our actual 9 team tournament where 8 teams at a time will contest with the host team sitting out. There will be 2 halves of each game. Each half will have 2 boards played. This has been selected so that your experience mimics the actual running of the game, without too much data entry required.
If you select "SICBF Trial (3 teams) session 1 of 3", this will involve team 2 meeting with team 3 (team 1 sitting out). The following description will assume this.
Let's assume
team 2 is (along with the bridge numbers) : Tan Jin Meng (8008), Kwai Fun (8007), Phang Siew Loon (8088) and Pinn May (8078)
team 3 is : Beng Tee (1002) Rachna Anand (1003), Amy Starling (7289) and Jen Gessner (7245)
The picture shows the movement description in EBU Teams. Team 2 is the "Home" team and team 3 is the "Away" team. Team 2 will be in NS on table 1 and EW on table 2 throughout. Team 3 will similarly be in EW Table 1 and NS Table 2 throughout. The difference is that after the first half, the away team will swap pairs. Whoever is on table 2 NS will move to table 1 EW and whoever is on table 1 EW will move to table 2 NS. The pairs representing team 2 will sit with no change through both halves.
The movement as displayed in EBUTeams.
As a reminder, this is how the players will sit.
Create an event in the usual way.
For the movement select "SICBF Trial (3 teams) Session 1 of 3" and confirm it (remember to select "club" movement as in the pic below). Then start the game in the usual way.
3. Using the Bridgemates, enter the player numbers in the usual way.
4. Using the Bridgemates, enter the contracts and result for boards 1 and 2 only for tables 1 and 2. This simulates the first half play.
Suggested contracts and results. Boards 1,2 for first half, boards 3,4 for second half.
5. Physically, the players in the away team now swap seats. On the bridgemates, for each table, you need to go to the "names" and correct the player numbers.
6. You will now "play" and enter the scores for boards 3 and 4 for both tables.
7. At this point, you have "finished" your 4 board round.
8. Go to EBU teams and read all results under "BridgeMate Scoring" in the normal way.
9. Get the results displayed or printed or sent. (see next section) - 2 ways. See Results printed in EBU Teams and Results uploaded to Bridgewebs.
