This document describes what is necessary to electronically score a team game for SICBF. The software used is EBUTeams with a custom movement. By way of introduction, EBUTeams is just the teams version of pairs scorer, and for a large part, is operated the same way. This document will mostly elide over parts that are common with pair scorer for conciseness, so a familiarity with pair scorer is assumed.
The custom movement has already been defined for you. When installing EBUTeams, you simply have to copy the custom movement.
You only need 2 files : the installation file for EBU Teams (ebuinstall6.1.4.exe) and TSUserMovements.txt. You will find the 2 files here (click on the link).
In theory, if you are an experienced user of EBUTeams and already know what to do, you may skip the test. For all others, I strongly suggest that you do a test. The test will be described to you. The test will also advise you on how best to display and distribute the results.
This video tells you how to install the software : https://youtu.be/IszsMtd_Ark .
In the movement file, there are 9 movements for the SICBF : one for each round. When running your round as a host, please ensure you select the right round. See screenshot below (select "Movement Library" from the main menu)
Each team will be allocated a team number at the start. The same team number applies through all the rounds. For example, if CSC is team number 6 that number stays with CSC throughout the 9 rounds. You should follow the team number displayed in the movement.

Within each session (or round) above, if you hit "Retrieve Movement", you will get something like the picture below. As explained in the "Guide for hosts", this tells you how the various teams (pre assigned a team number) should sit. The first named team is the "Home" team and the other team is the "Away" team. So for example, in tables 1 and 2, team 5 (home) is meeting team 6 (away). Team 5 is sitting and Team 6 swap seats with each other at half time. For a fuller description of the seating if unfamiliar with team matches, please see the "Guide for players". You need to make sure the teams sit in the right places - labels on the tables will help here.
In addition to the SICBF movements, there are 2 trial movements that are "truncated" to have fewer teams. This is for you to test on. There is a description of how to test using the 3 team movement here. These trial movements are the same as the 9 team movement except that there are fewer teams to make it easier for you to test with. It also only has the first round to avoid clutter.

with table filter set to 5 tables.
To run the game, you simply
Create an event in the usual way just like with Pair Scorer.
Select the correct movement to run (session 1 to 9 according to what round of SICBF is on).
Make sure that players get to the right seats according to their team number as per movement.
Start the session just like with PairScorer+BridgeMate.
The players will use the bridgemates in the regular way for the first half.
The "Away" teams will swap tables (NS on table 2 <->EW on table 1) for the second half.
Use the bridgemates and correct the player names to account for the swap.
Score normally. Then "Read all results" on the EBUteams (similar to pairscorer).
Distribute the results.
Note 1 : It is strongly advised that (unless you are very familiar already) you rehearse/simulate this in a small way using the test movement and 2 bridgemates. The process is described in this link.
Note 2: it is strongly advised that you look up the team numbers vs table arrangement ahead of time and label the seats physically to avoid confusion when players arrive.
There are 2 main ways to distribute the results. The first is to use Bridgewebs, if you have it. The second is a backup method using only EBUTeams. It is recommended to use Bridgewebs as its much less messy.
See this link for how to upload results to Bridgewebs. This is the recommended method.
See this link for how to use EBUTeams to display results. You are highly recommended to have a printer present to print out all results (team match by team match) to distribute. Alternatively, email or text message the results out. This is likely to be messy given the large number of participants.
You can optionally set up the team names in EBU Teams, so that we can refer to team names instead of team numbers. Please note the numbers correspond to what we've set up as team numbers for SICBF. Also (to avoid confusion) there will be an odd number of teams so the host club still enters its name as per team number.
After you have created the event, you can go into the "Player Names" section of EBU teams and enter the team names corresponding to the team number. The screenshot below refers to the trial 3 team movement.
If you are running with EBU Teams for the first time, or if you are unfamiliar with team scoring or both, it is strongly advised you simulate a game and check the results so you understand how it works. The trial movements for 2 tables (3 teams) and 4 tables (5 teams) are provided for this purpose.
A description of how you run this using the 3 team trial is here.
