Since I was old enough to hold an iPad, I always loved video games. Soon, I learned to make them in Scratch, then Python, then eventually JavaScript and C# Unity. Over time, my love for programming grew and I also became interested in other tech such as robotics, AI, and music production. Throughout my more recent projects I've been able to build valuable skills in leadership, teamwork, user research, and operations. Bringing these business skills together with my technical skills has helped extend the reach and impact of the tech that I develop, be it a game, robot or app.
For an individual project in school, I am designing and building a robot that can understand verbal instructions and carry out simple actions in the physical world, such as fetching a ball or stick. To build this 3D understanding and execution, I plan to use YOLOv11x, a 2D camera, an Adafruit ultrasonic sensor, OpenAI Whisper, Raspberry Pi, External Motor Controller Amps, and REV Robotics motors. You can read my project proposal here.
With my startup team Empty Console, I entered into the Congressional App Challenge. For the competition, we created a website to help local musicians earn higher revenues from live performances via real time tipping. The use case came to us from a popular local band in the SF Bay Area. You can view our Figma prototype here and our current website here(changed after submission). By submitting Open Stage, we secured third place in our district.
With Empty Console, I made Bugged Out for the 2025 Patch Notes Game Jam with the theme: The Error is the Feature. This is the first year of the Patch Notes Game Jam and only lasts a total of 3 days, the shortest time frame we have had to work with so far. Our submission placed 17th of 454 entries (9th in the other scoring platform) with 17th in theme integration, 18th in gameplay, 24th in fun factor, 38th in art, 46th in sound design, and 71st in innovation. With five classmates from school, I entered into the Future City Competition. In this competition, teams work to design a city to maximize satisfaction of citizens and this year, try to minimize food waste as well. Every team must create an organized project plan, write a detailed essay, build a physical model of their design, and give a presentation about their innovation. You can see our project plan here.
