Chemical Biology and Synthetic Biochemistry 

We are a young research group at IIT Kharagpur having interests in interdisciplinary areas of Chemical Biology. We are trying to implement the fundamentals of chemical biology tools to manipulate biological system in vitro and in vivo. This would allow to understand the biochemical processes on molecular level and provide tremendous opportunity to develop novel biochemical probes for studying such processes. Main areas of our research group are chemical epigenetics, histone PTMs, genetic code expansion, cyclic peptides, inteins, directed evolution.
