Death by Bullgaloo
aka the Bullshroud system
Aims
It is our assertion that the scenario is everything
We felt it important in our events that we (try to) make everything relaxed. In that vein, we were conscious that even a tired out brain should be able to quickly judge where it thinks it is in the day's rankings at any point.
Games need to be enjoyable to the end for both players, even when scenario victory becomes impossible (or improbable). To this end we knew that capturing some VP and maintaining good kills had to be important, so you always had something to play for.
Tournament Points
The tournament will use a 12 point max format of scoring.
2 points for a Win, 1 point for a Draw and 0 points for a loss. Each scenario will be individually scored with 7 points available for scenario and a maximum 3 for kill points.
Result
Win = 2 Tournament Points
Draw = 1 Tournament Point
Loss = 0 Tournament Points
Scenario Points Leveling
We choose and adapt scenarios to limit the available to equivalent amounts for each mission, in general a total of 7 Victory Points are available on the table. with the highest losing Victory Points of 3 and highest possible win of 7 Victory Points to 0 Victory Points.
If you see a mission where we have modified Victory Points, this is why.
See Balanced Scenarios for further info
Kills
Add up the points cost of the routed enemy units.
0 to 25% of the total cost of the army, that player gains 0 Tournament Point,
25 to 50% of the total cost of the army, that player gains 1 Tournament Point,
50 to 75% of the total cost of the army, that player gains 2 Tournament Points,
75 to 100% of the total cost of the army, that player gains 3 Tournament Points,
For Example in a 1995 or 2000 point game that would be:
0 to 500 points of the total cost of the army, that player gains 0 Tournament Point,
501 to 1000 points of the total cost of the army, that player gains 1 Tournament Point,
1001 to 1500 points of the total cost of the army, that player gains 2 Tournament Points,
1501+ points of the total cost of the army, that player gains 3 Tournament Points,
For Example in a 2300 point game that would be:
0 to 575 points of the total cost of the army, that player gains 0 Tournament Point,
576 to 1150 points of the total cost of the army, that player gains 1 Tournament Point,
1151 to 1725 points of the total cost of the army, that player gains 2 Tournament Points,
1726+ points of the total cost of the army, that player gains 3 Tournament Points,
Deciders
Death by Dragons uses the Balanced scenarios that Shroud of the Reaper and King of Herts worked on to balance each of the scenarios so that the following deciders are fair and can be used to separate ties.
1st Decider is the units you have killed
2nd Decider is then your VP attrition score (difference between all your VP and all your opponents VP).
3rd Decider is then your attrition score (difference between your kills and your own dead).
4th Decider is on the number of times your Tournament Character survived
5th Decider is on the number of Tournament Characters you killed
6th Decider is on the Strength of Schedule (ie the tournament ranking of each position of the players you played)
Finally, if there is still a draw, we toss a coin
