TEACHING & MENTORING PHILOSOPHY
Educating is a noble responsibility.
As someone who has benefitted from invaluable mentorship, my goal now is to provide the same and be half the mentor my advisors and professors were to me.
I believe teaching and mentorship are about more than simply sharing knowledge; they are about creating curiosity, building confidence, and helping students recognize their own potential. As a teacher and mentor, I strive to create an inclusive and supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, challenging ideas, and learning from mistakes.
I am a Graduate Teaching Assistant for two sections of HDFS 202: Diversity and Families in Fall 2026, where I support students through course instruction, discussion, and assessment.
I serve as a Graduate Application Mentor. In Fall 2026, through Project SHORT, I mentored three aspiring PhD applicants.
At Union College, I was a Writing Center Mentor for three years, and I supported over 100+ students.
I was also an AOP Summer Tutor Community Advisor (TCA) and AOP Psychology Tutor for two years.
