Organizing, and returning costumes (and checking pockets!)

Cast Announcement
Congratulations to everyone for participating in auditions and callbacks for Shrek, the Musical, Jr!!!
Casting
Thank you for participating in the first phase of our Shrek Jr production! We look forward to starting rehearsals this Wednesday, October, 1st. Auditions, callbacks, and casting are some of the most challenging elements of the musical theatre process for the directors. We were blown away by the energy, preparation, and talent of these young performers!! This production has many roles which makes the casting a complicated puzzle. The depth of this group was phenomenal and we could have cast the show in many different ways. After hours of deliberation, we have cast the named roles in the production. We have done our best to cast performers in roles in which we believe they will excel. We are still finalizing where ensemble members will fit into the many songs and scenes. Specific ensemble roles will be determined as the rehearsal process progresses.
Double Casting
Some of the larger roles have been double cast. That means that performers will play their role in 2 of the 4 performances.
Performers playing the roles of Shrek, Donkey, and Fiona will be assigned to one of the two casts and will be performing in 2 of the 4 performances. These performers are encouraged to come and cheer on their fellow cast members at the other shows, but it is not required.
Performers playing the roles of Pinocchio and Dragon will be assigned to one of the two casts and will perform Dragon or Pinocchio with their cast in 2 performances and ensemble in the other 2 performances.
All other performers will perform in all 4 performances.
Role Acceptance
After reading the cast list, please fill out the form below to accept or decline your role.
Participation Fee
Taking into account budget policies and a cost of living increase for directors, we are increasing the participation fee donation this year and offering a sliding scale. This is a RESMS PTSA production, so payment will go through the PTSA.
We will be doing a tiered participation donation fee:
Scholarship $0
Participation $95
Participation plus sustainability of the program $125
Please pay
using this link below,
select the tier that works best for your family, and
be sure to include your performer's name.
The participation fee will help to pay for directors, purchasing additional equipment (mics), building a costume base supply, and replacing anything that is damaged. The hope is to make the program sustainable in the long term.
All students who register, audition, and participate in rehearsals will be included and will not be differentiated in any way because of payment. The only difference is account keeping for the PTSA.
Remember to enter the name of the child participating as part of your payment to help us track the payments. Thank you!

Auditions and Callbacks are complete.
Auditions - Sept 17, 18, 19
Wednesday - 4pm-6pm
Thursday - 4pm-6pm
Friday - 4pm-6pm
Performers will sign up for a 30 minutes block of time. Performers should perform a 30-60 second monologue and sing 30-60 seconds of a song. If performers are new to musical theatre, there are some song options provided on the Audition Tips page.
Callbacks - Sept 24, 25, 26
Wednesday 2:45-5pm - Dancing Callback - Everyone who auditioned will be invited to this callback
Thursday 4pm-6pm - Callback to read and act for lead roles
Friday 4pm-6pm - Singing Callback
Callbacks are an opportunity for the directors to get to know the performers better. Those performers who are interested in larger roles with solo singing and speaking lines will have an opportunity to read scenes and sing songs from Shrek Jr. Callbacks help the directors piece together the puzzle of casting everyone.
