Shraddha did her PhD from IISER Pune in Population Biology Lab. She used experimental evolution to investigate the effects of fluctuating environments on bacteria. She then joined Andreas Wagner's group in University of Zurich for her postdoctoral studies. There, she investigated how novel traits of resistance evolve in bacteria. Using directed evolution studies, she also looked at the role of expression level of a protein in its evolution.
Currently, she is an Assistant Professor at Trivedi School of Biology in Ashoka University. Her group studies antimicrobial resistance in tertiary healthcare centers using genomic approaches and evolution of de novo resistance using laboratory evolution experiments.
