Having direct access to your teacher can be really powerful. This new learning environment actually creates new opportunities for this to happen.
There are so many tools for this. Start by consulting your school/district technology staff about the best tools to use. These tools also have to fit with current technology policies.
Zoom - Allows the host more control.
Google Meet/Hangouts - Less control simpler to use.
Microsoft Teams - Supports chat and video. Only works with accounts within your system.
Yoteachapp - Allows for live or asynchronous discussions.
Google Docs - Docs can be organized with prompt questions. Don't forget to have students sign their names to comments.
Mobile Permission Slips - In some districts parents need to give permission for students to participate. This tool allows parents to sign permissions slips on their phones.
Offer multiple resources and ways for students to reach out if they are stuck.
