Set the "Enable switcher advance" checkbox, and ShotDriver AD will advance the shot list on each transition from the switcher, i.e. each new tally-on signal received.
• Selecting a line in the shot list does not send data to the camera operators. Use the space bar or enter key to “take” the shot. During performance (i.e. when the "Enable switcher advance" checkbox is set) you may click on any line in the shot list, and that will be the next shot taken.
Use the up and down arrow keys to move the selected line up or down, then hit the space bar to send the data.
Notice that if you click on a line of the list or use the up/down keys to select a line, the highlight color will be the system highlight color (as selected in System Preferences > Appearance). And when the shot is taken, the line turns dark blue.
• To jump out of order to a specific shot, use the number keys to enter the shot number, then hit enter. Hit enter again (or the space bar) to take the selected shot. The jump function looks for the number entered in the shot number column of shots subsequent to the current shot.
Cancel the Jump function: Use the escape key to cancel a jump after having hit any number key.
AUTOMATIC SWITCHER ADVANCE:
• When the function “Enable switcher advance” is selected, any transition from the switcher will trigger ShotDriver to take the next shot in the list (or the selected shot if you have selected an entry out of order).
The goal is to make it as easy as possible for you to maintain correspondence between the actual “hot” shot and the current shot sent from ShotDriver, and to cope with situations which depart from the script.
• Use the command key to briefly "hold," meaning to inhibit automatic advance by the switcher.
Use the up or down arrow keys while pressing the command key to select the next shot to be taken automatically after you release the command key.
• A temporary hold can be programmed in a shot’s description which will inhibit automatic advance on switcher signals. Just enter “[HOLD]” into a shot description. When that shot is taken, an "OFF BOOK" hold is initiated and a yellow flashing box appears around the ““Enable switcher advance” checkbox. When the next shot is taken manually, automatic advance on switcher signals is re-enabled.
• Likewise you may press the "OFF BOOK" button to initiate a hold until the next shot is taken manually. In other words: once "OFF BOOK" has been clicked, ShotDriver remains in a HOLD state until someone manually takes the selected shot in the shot list (i.e. hits the space bar).
