Regular Meetings Notice
We meet each month on the third Tuesday at 4:30 pm.
Tellico Village Yacht Club - Top Floor
There are no dues for anyone who wants to attend
Each month we will have guest speakers that will discuss a variety of shooting related interests witch may include anything from bow and arrow, air gun, pistol, rifle, shot gun, reloading, gun smithing, tactical, police, government and the latest laws and regulations that pertain to our sport. We also partner with On Point Firearms Instruction, the Tellico Village gentlemen who give the Tennessee Enhanced handgun permit classes and provide shooting instruction.
The wide variety of talented members are always welcome to provide input at each meeting.
There are a good number of new people in the Village that have an interest in shooting sports. I meet them each month at New Villagers and many have signed on to the Shooting Sports Association group and meetings.
I often get asked about places to shoot and for those who prefer outdoor ranges, I tell them about the Rocky Top Firing Range off of Sugar Limb road at the end of Interstate Lane.
For a donation of $85 per year, we can use the range most days except Sunday and holidays. Saturdays can be rented for a nominal fee on a half or full day basis. Visit rockytopfiringrange.com for more information about range use and especially range rules that must be followed for a safe and pleasurable experience
The range itself has been purchased by a private individual who has opened it for membership. Go to the website above for more detail.
If you do decide to take part, bring your own targets and either take them with you when you leave or tear them up into bite size pieces and put them in one of the garbage cans. It is also a great idea to make your intentions clear to anyone else who may be there to be sure that firearms safety is being practiced at all times.
An internet search will lead you to a number of indoor ranges in the area and to the Oak Ridge Sportsman's Association in Oak Ridge Tn. It covers just about any shooting discipline from plinking, IDPA, cowboy, shotgun, handgun and bow and arrow.
