Statement of Purpose

“The Shooting Sports Association is a group of men and women who share a common interest in the lawful, safe, and responsible ownership and use of firearms.  The purpose of the Association is twofold: 

- Provide educational material to meeting attendees on a broad spectrum of subjects, such as: safety, lawful compliance, responsibilities, rights, education, self-defense, rewards, and related resources, and

- Offer the opportunity for people to meet others who have similar interests in their particular area of sportsmanship.

Meetings are held on the third Tuesday at 4:30 on the top floor of the Yacht Club.  They will center around one of more guest speakers who are subject matter experts on topics of general interest to the majority of attendees.  Meeting attendees will have opportunities to meet and "network" with others having similar interests.

There are no dues, fees, or signed membership to the Association at this time.  A name and e-mail address will put you on the Mail Chimp, e-mail hosting service, to receive notices for speakers and meeting reminders.

Meetings are open to everyone.  Due to insurance considerations the Association currently does not plan to sponsor, endorse, organize, or coordinate any organized shooting competition or sportsman events, but we do encourage members to get together individually to participate in their areas of interest.”
