Sirius Medx Bear Awareness Training
In this full day, instructor led on-site course, participants in the Bear Awareness and Safety Course learn that preparation is the key to preventing dangerous encounters! They will learn to recognize habitats and hazards as well as different species, plan their trips and observe and understand the language of bears. With the protection and respect of the bear as a key component of the course, participants will learn how to more safely interact with these amazing and intelligent creatures.

Practice
Taking the time to practice skills such as deploying bear spray or bear bangers is an essential part of the training. This protects both the members of your group in the event of a real situation, and also the bear ensuring proper and appropriate use.
Education
Training programs include lecture and education about bear habitat, behaviors and responses to human interactions. The lecture and discussion go hand in hand with the practice session using equipment such as air horns, pepper spray and bangers.
Experience
Combining the experiences of the instructor and the participants, this course is highly interactive with bear encounter reviews, discussion of videos captured involving bears, and personalized stories of how individuals handled bear interactions.
