Complete nursing clinicals in well-known hospitals in the Bay Area
Complete a senior capstone project
Life does not always go as planned. Ever since I could remember, I was helping my family members with medications and tasks of daily living. I enjoyed taking care of my family members because, at the end of the day, I loved spending as much time as I could with them. My mother had breast cancer, and I went with her to her appointments. There, I saw extraordinary nurses who provided patient-focused treatment. Not only did they treat the symptoms of the disease, but they also treated her with kindness and respect as if she was a healthy patient. They talked to her and saw her as a person instead of an ill patient with a terminal disease. This is what inspired me to pursue a career in nursing because I wanted to use my skills such as kindness and compassion in every single interaction I have. One quote that I implement in my daily life is “One act of kindness won't change the world but it might change one person’s world”. The smallest act of kindness or thoughtfulness can make a world of a difference, especially for those who are in their most vulnerable state.
