Shilo is a not-for-profit organization, with the purpose of providing fun and welcoming shows to all riders. We compete for ribbons and bragging rights. We organize a Year End Award Ceremony where High Point winners receive buckles.
Membership fees are REQUIRED to attend any Shilo Show. It's $20 for individual membership or $40 for family membership.
Entry fees for the 2026 season are only $5 per class! All classes in the Leadline division are free!
All shows are at the Russell Fairgrounds (1076 Concession St, Russell), starting at 10:00am.
Registration is available until Thursday night at 9pm the week of the show. Please get your entries in using the forms on the Show Registration Page. No entries will be accepted the day of the show. However, team events can be entered day-of up until the start of the peewee Flag class. This is to account for riders who may want to find a teammate at the show.
We accept cash on the day of the show between 8:00-9:00am. After 9:00am, riders who have not checked in are scratched from the show.
New this year, we will be accepting E-transfers as payment! The conditions for E-transferring payment are:
Total payment must be sent to nicholasrepaci29@gmail.com before 9:00pm the Thursday before show date.
NO REFUNDS will be issued. NO exceptions.
If a show is cancelled due to bad weather, payment will be carried over to the next show.
How to pay via E-transfer:
Send total amount owed to nicholasrepaci29@gmail.com
In the “Message” section, state your name, horse’s name, show date, and what the payment is for.
Example: “Payment for entry fees and membership for John Doe riding Galaxy at Shilo on May 24, 2025”

On the day of the show, entry cut-off to pay for your fees in cash is 9:00am, the shows start at 10:00am and we’re usually done by 3:30pm-4:00pm. Please remember to bring cash the day of the event if you did not pay in advance, as we only accept cash day-of! No E-transfers on the day of the show.
All horses or ponies are to be kept under control while on show grounds. Any rider who in the opinion of the Show Manager, Board of Directors, or on written complaint, causes or allows a hazardous situation to develop, or acts in an unsportsmanlike manner toward Judges, show management, other exhibitors or spectators, will lose any accumulated points that day and will be banned from further competition on that day. He or she may also be subject to future disciplinary action from the Board of Directors.
It should be noted that the Shilo Riding Club will adopt a zero tolerance for bullying and the above measures will be applied accordingly.
The following does not apply to fairs that the Shilo Riding Club may be operating. Cancellation in the case of a fair event will be up to the fair board.
If the weather is questionable and you are wondering if we will be running an event as scheduled, here is what you need to know.
If it is raining or has rained a significant amount in the days leading up to a scheduled club event, a decision will be made on whether to run the event as follows;
We will not normally cancel an event just because it is raining. Safety is our concern. We will also not base our decision solely on the weather forecast.
A minimum of 3 Shilo executive members will inspect the Russell Fair Grounds on the morning of the event. They will decide to run or cancel the event based on the condition of the ring and whether it can be worked to a safe condition. Also, the condition of the surrounding grounds will be considered keeping in mind that we cannot damage the grounds with our vehicles and animals as we are guests on the property.
Once a decision is made, it will be posted on Facebook, this web page, and Twitter as well as a mass email to the membership.
It is our intention to post the decision before 8:00am on the day of the show.
Brush up on the Shilo Riding Club Rules before a show!
Please note that the Shilo Riding Club rules only apply to Shilo shows.
This means that the rules attached do not apply to the Russell Fair, organized by Shilo.
