Emily started riding trails with her mom as a kid and was given a foal at the age of 10. That horse sparked her love for the horse industry and got her into barrel racing at Shilo at 16. Emily now attends the university of Guelph for equine management, is on the Guelph IHSA western riding team, works with the RCMP musical ride, and is serving her 4rd year on the SHILO committee.

I'm Adrienne, I'm a mother of 2 teens and during the pandemic we moved from our modern day luxury suburban home in Orleans, to a small farmstead hobby farm in Embrun with no experience whatsoever. We wanted to be closer to our food source and learn the old fashion ways of working with the land and nourish ourselves from the ground up using livestock and learning about regenerative agriculture. Upon arrival to the farm, the kids wanted horses. Having had a bad fall in my youth, I wasn't open to the idea, but seeing that I am with Shilo today, we can all agree that that fear is now far behind me. We have 2 horses (a senior Chestnut Gelding Quarter horse and a Paint Mare) and a miniature donkey that we adore. I am riding again and I am getting certified to work with humans and horses with the FEEL program this summer - a form of equine assisted learning. Looking forward to continuing in the equestrian world and watching the kids have the time of their lives though these beautiful community events.
Hello I'm Zoe. I have been an equestrian since summer of 2020. Moved to the farm life when I was 9 years old and got my first horse upon arrival. I now have 2 horses and have immersed myself in several equestrian activities - such as Equestrian Vaulting, competing at the Canter level with Nation Valley Ranch. Western Riding at the advanced level and learning to be part of a western Drill team to soon be part of the Capital Cowgirls. I work as a farm hand and teachers assistant. I have also participated in the local pony club for 2 years where I have done some English riding as well. I love working with horses and would love to compete in western games more professionally. Really looking forward to the upcoming season.
