Team Rules and Regulations

We would like to remind parents that it is a BCSA requirement that all swimming and diving team members of participating pools are required to be full members of their respective county pool.

REQUIREMENTS:

• 8 and under must be able to swim one lap
• 9 & 10 must be able to swim two consecutive laps

PRACTICE:

1. Swimmers should arrive 15 minutes before practice and be ready to swim at the start of practice.
2. Parents and swimmers in other age groups are not permitted on the deck during practice.
3. Please address issues with coaches before or after practice times. Please DO NOT address issues during practice. All requests and special needs are to be in written form for coaches (i.e. note, email)
4. If a swimmer is staying at the playground and is being walked to practice by a counselor, then a written note from a parent/guardian must be given to the coaches.
5. If an alternate practice will be utilized, then coaches need to be made aware of this alternate practice by email or by written note.
6. If a practice is postponed, cancelled or rescheduled because of weather related events, an electronic notice will be posted.

MEETS:

1. If swimmers are not at Monday practice the day of the meet, then swimmers will not be permitted to swim in the meet unless otherwise notified.
2. If your child cannot attend a meet, then please notify a coach AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
3. Meets are ALWAYS on unless otherwise notified.
4. All swimmers are to arrive to meets 15 minutes PRIOR to warm-up time (i.e Home Meets - 4:45 pm; Away Meets - 5:15 pm)
5. When at a swim meet, swimmers are NOT permitted to play in other pools. Swimmers must be accessible at all times for competition. Any swimmer found in another pool during a meet will be scratched from his/her events.
6. Parents are responsible to ensure their swimmer/s are ready to swim when it is time for their event/s.
7. Swimmers CANNOT leave a meet early without a coach's permission. It is important that we support each other as a team for the entire meet.

INVITATIONALS:

1. Invitationals are NOT mandatory. They are optional meets for the more competitive swimmers.
2. No entries will be accepted WITHOUT money.
3. Parents are responsible for your own swimmer/s while at the Invitational (i.e. swimmer will be at each event on time).
4. Coaches will attend invitational meets if enough swimmers show interest in participating.
5. ALL families are required to volunteer for the Shillington Blue & White Invitational or pay a $30 fundraising buyout.

USE OF CELL PHONES AND OTHER MOBILE RECORDING DEVICES:

Use of audio or visual recording devices, including a cell phone camera, is not allowed in changing areas, rest rooms, or locker rooms.
