Sheridan Hills PTO coordinates a school-wide fall fundraiser every year to finance school field trips, guest speakers, special student activities, and additional academic enrichment opportunities.

The Sheridan Hills annual READ-A-THON is a great way to raise money for our school while motivating students to increase their reading time with rewards and fun prizes. During the month of March, students in ALL GRADES can participate by setting a goal and reading (or being read to) during the 12-day period. Prizes will be awarded to students who participate, students who read the most, and students who collect any donation amount. All proceeds help the Sheridan Hills PTO fund school activities, field trips and school events, as well as classroom resources that enrich the learning experience.

Sheridan Hills PTO hosts a Silent Auction during the school’s Winter Dance Night. The money generated from the auction is used to supplement activities at the school.

Items to auction off at the event are always needed. Business sponsors to donate gift certificates, merchandise, tickets, memberships, and services are also welcome. No amount is too small!

Here are some ideas to get you thinking.

• Gift Certificates (salon, spa, retail store, amusement park, restaurant)

• Services (lawn maintenance, snow plowing, painting, hair stylist)

• Lessons (piano, golf or tennis, yoga, Pilates, karate, skiing)

• Travel Opportunities (time shares, local hotels or vacation homes)

• Memberships (local fitness clubs, tennis clubs)

• Handmade Items (artwork, jewelry, pottery)

• Tickets (Gopher sports, Timberwolves, Magicians Hockey, WILD)

Our Scholastic Book Fair is a reading event that brings kids the books they want to read. Three times a year we receive a wonderful selection of engaging and affordable books for every reading level. All purchases benefit our school! Volunteers are always needed to help staff the cashier table. Kids can help, too!

Box Tops for Education is an ongoing opportunity to support out school. You can scan the special QR code from our Bear Paws monthly newsletter to download the app, or visit BTFE.com. Any unexpired Box Top clips can be dropped off in the school PTO mailbox, too. Each Box Top is worth $.05, and they do add up to make a difference.

The Sheridan Hills PTO provides school spirit shirts for ALL children and staff of the school. We hope the children will enjoy wearing them! We ask that each child wear his/her school spirit shirt every Friday for fun and to help promote school spirit.

Although the PTO happily pays for the shirts with funds from our school fundraisers, we welcome additional donations to help cover the costs. If you choose to send a donation, you can put it in an envelope marked “PTO” and send it to school with your child.

Artsonia is the largest student art museum in the world and is an online community that celebrates students creativity! Every child can have an online art gallery and preserve their masterpieces for all time! Remember, Sheridan Hills will earn 20% of all the merchandise bought by you or other family members that will go directly toward the art department. The products featuring your child's artwork make wonderful gifts, especially for out of town family members.
