SCREENED TOPSOIL
Topsoil is the upper layer of soil, usually between 2 to 8 inches in depth, that contains most of the ground's nutrients and fertility.
"Screened” topsoil simply means that it’s processed through a ½” screen. This material is easy to work with since many of the soil clumps, rock, roots & unwanted debris are removed from the soil. Our screening plant is constantly making fresh topsoil.
COMMON USES:
Suitable for lawn & garden applications. Ideal for sod replacement, grading, filling in holes & seeding your lawn. When planting a new lawn or over-seeding a patchy lawn, you can use a thin layer of topsoil to protect the grass seeds as they sprout.
UNSCREENED TOPSOIL
Topsoil that has not been screened. This soil has a mixture of large and small soil particles, stones, and debris.
This bulk soil is made available unscreened; thus being the most economical material for use.
COMMON USES:
An affordable solution for creating mounds or other elevated landscaping shapes, which can then be topped with screened topsoil.
TRIPLE MIX
A blend of peat moss, topsoil & mushroom compost. The peat & compost are added to the topsoil to enhance the organic content & nutrient quality of the soil. The peat moss helps to lock in moisture, and the compost feeds the soil and increases plant growth.
COMMON USES:
Planting trees, shrubs, flower and vegetable gardens. Also used for new lawns. For existing lawns, can be used as a top dressing and to patch bare spots.
