The 2798 Squadron joined the 2nd Tactical Air Force in 1944 and were aligned with the Americans when landing on Omaha Beach in Normandy. They were also one of the 1st British Units into Paris when it was liberated. Ray took photos with his own camera as he travelled across Europe including his time at the Travemunde sea base on the Northern German Baltic coast. The book covers Ray's time with the 2798.
