Gridly Privacy Policy

Gridly ("we", "our", or "the app") is a mobile puzzle game published as Gridly on Google Play (com.gridlygames.app). This policy explains what information the app collects, how we use it, and your choices.

Summary

• You can play as a guest without creating an account.

• If you sign in, we store your account and game data to enable cross-device sync.

• We do not sell your personal information.

• We do not show ads in the app.

Information we collect

Information you provide

• Email address and password — collected when you sign up or sign in; used for account authentication.

• Google account (name, email) — collected when you use Sign in with Google; used for account authentication.

• Feedback or bug reports — collected when you submit feedback; used to improve the app (optional contact email).

• Custom puzzle words — collected when you create a shareable puzzle; used to generate invite links for friends.

Information collected automatically

• Game statistics (wins, streaks, guess distribution, times) — used to display stats and sync when signed in.

• App settings (theme, game preferences, reminder times) — used to personalize your experience and sync when signed in.

• In-progress games — saved locally on your device so you can resume.

We do not collect precise location, contacts, photos, or microphone/audio recordings through normal app use.

Information stored only on your device

• Guest play progress and stats (until you sign in)

• In-progress puzzles (not synced across devices)

• Local notification schedules for daily reminders

How we use information

We use collected information to:

• Provide gameplay, statistics, and optional cloud sync

• Authenticate your account

• Respond to feedback you send

• Deliver local daily reminder notifications you configure (not remote push marketing)

Third-party services

Gridly uses trusted service providers:

• Supabase — authentication, database, cloud sync, and feedback storage. Privacy policy: supabase.com/privacy

• Google — optional Sign in with Google. Privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy

• Free Dictionary API — optional short word definitions after Word Hunt games. Only the word looked up is sent to this third-party API.

• Pexels — optional Grid Snap puzzle images when configured. Privacy policy: pexels.com/privacy-policy

Invite links may open in a web browser before launching the app. Those pages are served by our backend and do not require a login.

Data retention

• Account data is kept while your account exists. You may request deletion by contacting us (see below).

• Feedback submissions are retained for product improvement.

• Game invites expire after 90 days.

• Data on your device can be removed by uninstalling the app or clearing app storage.

Children

Gridly is intended for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We use industry-standard measures including encrypted storage for authentication tokens on device (secure storage) and encrypted connections (HTTPS) for cloud services. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Your choices

• Guest play — use the app without an account; data stays on your device.

• Sign out — returns you to guest mode; local guest data is restored on the device.

• Reminders — disable per-game daily reminders in each game’s settings.

• Account deletion — contact us to request deletion of your account and associated cloud data.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will change. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
