As an active member of my community, I dedicate my time and skills to support and mentor younger generations however I can. My hope is to contribute to the positive development of the community, empower youth to become engaged and compassionate members of society, and foster a sense of environmental responsibility among others.
As a Board Member of Backyard Basecamp, a Baltimore-based non-profit organization, I am deeply passionate about their mission to connect Black, Indigenous, and People of Color to the beauty and resources of nature. Through volunteering in community programming, I have had the privilege of supporting our youth environmental career pipeline program, Weeds2Woods. This initiative empowers young people with hands-on experiences and mentorship, fostering a new generation of environmental leaders. I believe in the transformative power of nature and am committed to ensuring that all communities have access to these vital experiences.

Masonville Cove is a one of a kind nature space in south Baltimore that is co-operated by state, federal, and nonprofit partners. Their commitment to serving their diverse community through accessible programs and contributing to environmental research through participatory science efforts, immediately resonated with me. After volunteering and being engaged with programming (e.g., migratory bird banding, free nature-based programs) since 2021, I accepted a position to serve on the Board of Directors for the Friends of Masonville Cove in 2026.
