As an active member of my community, I dedicate my time and skills to support and mentor younger generations however I can. My hope is to contribute to the positive development of the community, empower youth to become engaged and compassionate members of society, and foster a sense of environmental responsibility among others.
As a Board Member of Backyard Basecamp, a Baltimore-based non-profit organization, I am deeply passionate about their mission to connect Black, Indigenous, and People of Color to the beauty and resources of nature. Through volunteering in community programming, I have had the privilege of supporting our youth environmental career pipeline program, Weeds2Woods. This initiative empowers young people with hands-on experiences and mentorship, fostering a new generation of environmental leaders. I believe in the transformative power of nature and am committed to ensuring that all communities have access to these vital experiences.

At Windsor Hills Elementary School, I engaged students in nature-based activities through mixed-media art, land exploration, and gardening native plants as an educator for the Baltimore Forest School program. We explored local ecosystems, expressed creativity through nature-inspired art, and learned eco-conscious gardening practices. These experiences aimed to foster a love for nature and environmental stewardship.

As a Community Engagement Intern at Patuxent Research Refuge in Laurel, MD, I led nature walks for visiting students from the surrounding area - many of them had never visited the property despite living less than a few miles away. My goal on these nature walks was to provide hands-on learning experiences about local ecosystems and wildlife. I hoped to inspire a love for nature and environmental awareness among the students.
