Brief Bio.
Ilwoo Lyu, Ph.D. is an assistant professor of Computer Science and Engineering and Graduate School of Artificial Intelligence at Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH). Prior to joining POSTECH, he was an assistant professor of Comptuer Science and Engineering at Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST) and a research assistant professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Vanderbilt University. He earned his PhD in Computer Science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and MS/BS in Computer Science at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST). His main research area intersects computer vision, machine learning, computer graphics, and medical image analysis. He is interested particularly in developing novel algorithms for 3D shape analysis based on computer vision and machine learning techniques to explore highly convoluted shapes. He has 60+ peer-reviewed publications and is highly collaborative with domestic and international co-investigators.
