Once again, welcome to the Air Force. We’re honored to have you as part of our team. Now, let’s get to work.
It is our privilege to serve as your first Air Force supervisors. The fact that you have earned a place in the Delayed Entry Program already sets you apart. Because of that, we expect you to uphold the highest standards of performance, punctuality, honesty, integrity, and professionalism—both on and off duty. These standards begin now and will follow you throughout your Air Force career.
SUPERVISAR
As your primary trainers, our responsibility is to ensure you are fully prepared to succeed in the United States Air Force. This includes physical fitness training, benefits and entitlements briefings, Basic Military Training (BMT) preparation classes, and discussions about the Air Force lifestyle. We are also committed to answering questions and providing guidance to both you and your family as you prepare for this next chapter.
ENTRENAR
Your Basic Military Training date may still be some time away, but you are never on your own. During your time in the DEP, we are always just a phone call, text, email, or office visit away. If challenges arise—personally, medically, or administratively—notify us immediately. We can only help if we are informed.
ASISTIR
Above all, you can expect us to lead by example at all times. We will uphold and model the Air Force Core Values:
Integrity First, Service Before Self, and Excellence in All We Do.
These values are the foundation of our profession and the standard we expect you to live by starting today.
While enrolled in the Delayed Entry Program, your primary responsibility is to remain mentally, medically, morally, and physically qualified for Air Force service. You are required to immediately notify your recruiter of any change to your status—medical, legal, employment, or personal—to prevent delays or disqualification from enlistment.
CALIFICACIONES
You are expected to attend all mandatory DEP functions and are strongly encouraged to participate in physical training sessions and scheduled activities. Punctuality is essential—arrive on time or early to all events. If you are unable to attend, you must notify your recruiter in advance, receive approval, and establish a follow-up date.
ASISTENCIA
During your waiting period, your career field and Basic Military Training (BMT) ship date will be finalized. You may be contacted with additional job opportunities that align with your qualifications and interests, even if they were not originally listed. Flexibility and availability are key.
You must also be prepared to depart for BMT on or after the date you selected, with minimal notice if required.
CARRERAS
As you prepare to leave for Basic Military Training, it is your responsibility to help replace yourself in the DEP. If you know anyone who could benefit from Air Force opportunities, refer them to your recruiter. Your recommendation helps strengthen the force and supports future Airmen.
PERPETUAR
Opportunities in the Air Force are competitive. There are always qualified applicants waiting for an opening—remain committed, prepared, and professional to secure your place.
Any direct violation of DEP policy, excessive absences, failure to maintain contact, or failure to follow instructions may result in discharge from the United States Air Force Delayed Entry Program.
If you are discharged from the DEP, you will not be eligible to join the Air Force and may also be disqualified from joining another branch of the U.S. Armed Forces.
For this reason, accountability, communication, and commitment are essential from this point forward.
RECORDATORIO FINAL

Airman's Run
The Airman's Run is a 1.5-mile run that celebrates the culmination of Basic Military Training. The run takes place in the Pfingston Reception Center (PRC) and guests will have the opportunity to line-up along the run route in the Airman's Arena (the outdoor area at the PRC) to cheer on their Airman. Airmen will pass through the run-route twice giving guests the opportunity to get a glimpse of their Airman for the first time in 7.5 weeks.
BMT Informational Briefing
The event briefing is essentially a welcome presentation located inside the Pfingston Reception Center auditorium. The briefing includes watching some videos and learning more about what to expect during the graduation events. All are encouraged to attend.
New Spouse Orientation
The New Spouse Orientation is located inside the Pfingston Reception Center Chief's Room. The orientation is designed to inform and educate new Air Force/Space Force spouses on the resources available to them and arm them with information about the next steps (from Tech School to their first permanent duty station). Join us to meet other spouses and ask your questions. Those who attend the orientation will have the opportunity to sit in reserved seats prior to the start of the Airman's Coin Ceremony
Coin and Retreat Ceremony
The Airmen Coin Ceremony is a retreat ceremony in which Airmen receive the coveted Airmen or Guardian coin that signifies their transition from "trainee" to "Airman." Upon presentation of the coin by their Military Training Instructor, trainees will officially become Airmen and Guardians. Guests will have the opportunity to "tap out" their loved one following the ceremony.
Graduation Parade
The Graduation Parade is the formal parade located at the Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland parade grounds. Airmen will perform a traditional military parade in their blue uniform. They will march down the "bomb run" and conduct a pass and review for visitors. Following the ceremony family members will be able to "tap out" their Airmen.
Town Pass/Liberty
Following the Airman's Coin Ceremony, Airmen will be able to leave base and spend time with their families. Following graduation, Airmen will be allowed to spend additional time with their families on the installation. A number of activities are available during that time frame.
