Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) has 43 clinical disciplines and three institutes deal with geriatric medicine, infectious diseases and ophthalmology. Aided by contribution of $5000 from Tan Tock Seng in 1844, the Hospital was constructed on top of Pearl's Hill. the first batch of patients was admitted in 1849. TTSH is part of the National Healthcare Group, providing holistic and integrated patient care. In 2003, the hospital was declared the designated hospital for SARS screening and treatment by the Ministry of Health due to its past experience with communicable diseases. TTSH is clinical partner of LKC medical school, the newest medical school in Singapore.
